Submissions for the 2019 BIO·FICTION Science Art Film Festival are now open!

Biofaction is organizing a new edition for the 2019 BIO·FICTION Science Art Film Festival. The theme of this year’s festival is: FUTUREBODY. We’re looking for short films dealing with how neurotechnology shapes the future of the human body, mind, intelligence and society. We’re looking forward to your film submissions that deal with the theme across multiple genres: science fiction, documentaries, animations, fictional pieces, design, experimental work, and anything else that you would like to explore.

The two-day long BIO·FICTION Science Art Film Festival will take place in Vienna, Austria in September 2019. After the festival, a selection of the films will tour around the world. If you want to be a part of it, share your film(s) with us by JULY 31, 2019.  You’ll get the chance to win the festival competition in 3 categories (and a prize of €1000 in each of these) as well as to have your film screened worldwide.

For more information about how to submit, please check out the BIO·FICTION Science Art Film Festival website, where you can also have a look at the past festivals to get inspired.

FUTUREBODY is a 3 year EU ERANET NEURON-ELSA project in collaboration with KIT-ITAS (Germany), the University of Calgary (Canada), the University of Freiburg (Germany) and Biofaction KG (Austria). The Austrian part is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) project number I 3752-B27.
