Pathogens becoming more and more resistant to antibiotics, is one of the big threats for public health. Creating awareness, increasing the public understanding of the problem, and exploring new ways to eliminate diseases are the goals of the mobile phone SYNMOD game.
Our SYNPEPTIDE project partner Auke van Heel and Manuel Montalban-Lopez from the University of Groningen, Netherlands, in collaboration with IMC Weekendschool have introduced the game to kids in the Netherlands who have since learned about infectious diseases, amino acids, peptides and antibiotics in an entertaining yet educative way. The interactive event took place at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), February 2, 2015.
